Keynote speakers
 | Krzysztof Tchon, PhD, DSc, is a professor of automation and robotics at the Electronics Faculty, Wroclaw University of Technology, Poland. His research interests concentrate on mathematical aspects of control systems and robotics, specifically, on geometric control, kinematic singularities of manipulation and mobile robots, and motion planning of non-holonomic systems. In the years 2008-2012 he was involved in the EU 7 FP project LIREC (LIving with Robots and intEractive Companions), aimed at providing a technology of building social robots - robotic companions for humans. His research team has designed an expressive robotic head EMYS, and a robotic companion FLASH, recently sold in Europe and US. Professor K. Tchon is has authored nearly 200 publications and supervised 13 PhD theses. For a couple of years he has been chairing the Robot section of the Committee of Automation and Robotics of the Polish Academy of Sciences. |
 | Prof. Jacek Żak is an Associate Professor and a Head of the Department of Logistics at Poznań University of Technology in Poznań, Poland. Prof. J. Żak’s core research and consulting interests include: optimization, simulation and decision aiding in transportation and logistics systems, analysis and evaluation of city logistics and urban transportation systems, redesign and restructuring of business processes and organizations, artificial intelligence in transportation and logistics. He is the author of more than 130 publications, including: 6 academic handbooks, monographs and dissertations, 60 articles and 60 papers in Conference Proceedings. Many of his research results have been published in highly recognized international journals (Journal of Advanced Transportation, European Journal of Operational Research, Transportation Research, International Transactions in Operations Research, Archives of Transport). |
